Who: FIRST is a volunteer-driven and operated organization. FIRST’s success is a direct result of the extraordinary commitment of individuals who give their time and resources. FIRST’s volunteers include: community leaders, employees of corporate sponsors, teachers, parents, university students and faculty, and FIRST alumni and friends.
Where: Portland Memorial Coliseum, Portland, OR
When: March 3rd-5th, 2010
How: Some positions require “technical/mechanical know-how,” others do not. Some just require a confident voice or the desire to help out a worthy cause.
- We’ll need volunteers for many areas. Some include:
- Pit support (the “pit” is the location where teams keep their robots)
- Technical floater
- Team queuing
- Crowd control
- Referees
- Registration and VIP information table
- Machine shop
- Awards assistant
- and more
Volunteers do not have to commit themselves for the entire weekend. However, we do require a full day commitment in order to keep the process manageable. Volunteers must be over the age of 12.
